Hamish Collins MANAGING DIRECTOR & CEO
Hamish Collins is a qualified mining engineer (BEng. (Mining) Hons) with a graduate diploma in Applied Finance and Investments from the Securities Institute of Australia. He has a combined 31 years of mining industry and mining investment banking experience. Hamish was co-founder (2021) and MD of Fetch Metals. Fetch Metals acquired the White Range Copper Heap Leach Project near Cloncurry in 2021. Hamish was MD of Aeon for 9 years where he was instrumental in acquiring Walford Creek (2014), increasing the Resource base from 6mt Inferred to 37mt Measured & Indicated, raising over $100m, and increasing the share price from $13m to $75m. Prior to this he held position as Managing Director of base metals explorer Aston Metals Ltd (now Aeon Metals Walford Creek Ltd) and Chief Executive Officer of Aston Resources Limited. Prior to involvement with Aston Metals and Aeon Metals, Hamish held senior level positions in mining investment banking (including M&A and project financing) at BNP Paribas, NM Rothschild & Sons (Australia) Ltd, SG Hambros (Australia) Ltd, and Nesbitt Burns (Canada). Before joining the investment banking world, Hamish worked as an underground mining engineer for WMC in Western Australia.
Dan JohnsonEXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dan is a qualified Geologist (BSc (Hons) in Geology) from Exeter University in the UK and has over 35 years’ experience in exploration and development in the resources sector both in Australia and overseas. The last twenty-five years have been predominantly focused on Queensland exploration after starting his career in Australia on gold exploration in WA. Most recently, Dan was co-founder (2021) and ED of Fetch Metals. Fetch Metals acquired the White Range Copper Heap Leach Project near Cloncurry in 2021. Prior to Fetch he was Exploration Manager at Aeon, Chief Executive Officer of Aston Metals Limited (now Aeon Metals Walford Creek Ltd) and in that position, drove the exploration program at Walford, increased resources and engaged with all stakeholders. Between 2007 and 2009, he held the position of Executive Director of Sovereign Metals Limited and from 2000 and 2007 he worked as a Consultant Geologist to MIM/Xstrata Copper Exploration where he was involved in a number of projects in the Cloncurry – Mount Isa region including at Mt Isa Copper and at Ernest Henry. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and the Society of Economic Geologists.
Daryl MidgleyEXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Daryl has over 15 years of mining industry and listed company experience. He has worked in companies with operations in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Europe and the U.S.. Daryl has held senior financial positions within this period including over 10 years spent as Chief Financial Officer, and Company Secretary for 2 years, at both ASX and TSX listed companies that produced Copper, Gold, Lead, Zinc and Silver in various forms. Prior to this he was Audit Manager at the audit firm BDO. In 2016, Daryl started a consultancy business providing senior financial services to various companies, which included 5 years at Aeon Metals, working mostly in the mining exploration sector.
Greg HorbartMETALLURGICAL CONSULTANT
Greg has 35 years industry experience, focussed on the base metals industry. Recognised specialist in plant optimisation and continuous improvement based on integration with and empowerment of site personnel. Previous role as Technology Manager at JKTech provides a unique skill set in state-of-the-art optimisation knowledge including metallurgical interpretation of mineralogical data and test results, comminution circuit design, flotation machine design, flotation circuit design and simulation and geometallurgy. Greg managed the metallurgical work for Walford Creek including roaster testwork undertaken in Germany and Finland.
